iCTuS-L; Interactive Cybernetic Training System for Legs
iCTuS-L is a serious game for the Institute of Neuroinformatics INI of the ETH Zürich. It is designed to hel spinal cord injury (SCI) Patients in their rehabilitation process and help the scientific research of mirror neuron activity.
After our work on Starshine for INI and the childrens hospital of Affoltern, Bruno Meilick and I continued our work for INI in their new research project under the group of Kynan Eng.
iCTuS-L is a framework that inhabits an evergrowing number of rehabilitation exercises for SCI patients. Those games are tailormade for specific types of muscle stimulation. The therapist can therefore customize the experience for individual patients depending on their progress on rehab so far, offering a variety of exercises with destinguished different styles. Two virtual helpers in the game also offer their assistance by printing out patients histories in training to Excel, adjusting the settings for each patient or comment the patient if he just broke a new personal record
